"The East Dance Company has profoundly transformed my life, providing me with a sense of purpose and resilience that I never thought possible. Having undergone my first heart transplant at just two years old, opportunities for dance were limited throughout my childhood. It wasn't until I began dancing at my middle school, just before the COVID-19 pandemic, that I discovered my passion for this art form. Although I faced setbacks, including being held back in school and losing my love for dance during the pandemic, joining East Dance Company as a freshman reignited my appreciation for hard work and creativity, helping me to focus on something beyond my health struggles.

 My journey has been filled with challenges, including a diagnosis of coronary artery disease in my junior year, which made me doubt my ability to continue dancing. However, the unwavering support from my amazing dance company, my dedicated teacher, and my best friend has empowered me to persevere. Through dance, I’ve not only found joy but also a profound sense of accomplishment.
